Kirk Herbstreit takes shot at Wake Forest's fanbase during College GameDay
Wake Forest is 8-0 and at No. 9 in the College Football Playoff rankings, but Kirk Herbstreit hasn’t bought in yet.
In fact, the opposite. Herbstreit was critical of the Demon Deacons during the College Football Playoff rankings reveal on Tuesday. He doubled down on Saturday morning, taking a shot at Wake Forest’s fan base.
Here’s a clip from the show:
Pollack: “People at Wake may be upset about the rankings”
Herbstreit: “6 people”

Wake Forest enters November as the ACC’s only remaining undefeated team. However, the Demon Deacons are underdogs on the road at North Carolina today in what is technically a nonconference matchup.
The Demon Deacons are in unchartered territory. In addition to being No. 9 in the CFP rankings, they enter this week at No. 10 in the AP Poll — their highest ranking in program history.
Quarterback Sam Hartman has been one of the biggest surprises in college football this season. He’s thrown for a career-high 2,475 yards and 23 touchdowns already this season while posting an ACC-best passer efficiency rating of 175.0.
Wake Forest currently has a one-game lead over North Carolina State in the Atlantic Division. Those two teams will meet on Nov. 13.
