Report: Wake Forest starting cornerback to miss Florida State game
Wake Forest’s top cornerback Caelen Carson will miss Saturday afternoon’s game against Wake Forest, according to a report.
That’s per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who notes that Carson also missed last week’s game against Clemson.
Sources: Wake Forest will again with without its top cornerback, Caelen Carson, against Florida State later today (3:30, ABC). He is considered week-to-week. Wake will have nickel Brendon Harris available after he missed last week’s game against Clemson.

Carson is a major part of Wake Forest’s secondary. Last season, he had 2 interceptions, 7 pass deflections and 1 fumble recovery as Wake Forest completed its second 10+ win season in program history.
Without Carson last week, Wake Forest was vulnerable to Clemson’s passing attack. DJ Uiagalelei had one of the best games of his career, throwing for 5 touchdown passes in the Tigers’ win.
Thamel also noted that nickel back Brendon Harris is expected to be available vs. the Noles despite missing last week’s contest due to injury.
The winner of this game will remain a top contender for the ACC Atlantic title. Wake Forest is hoping to defend that crown this season.
Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
