Wake Forest officially announced the hiring of Ari Confesor as its next wide receivers coach on Monday.

A former All-American wide receiver for Holy Cross, Confesor joins coach Dave Clawson’s staff after 4 years spent as the wideout coach for Air Force. He was also the passing game coordinator and receivers coach for Holy Cross in 2018 before taking the position at Air Force ahead of the 2019 season.

“My family and I are thrilled to be headed to Winston-Salem and join Coach Clawson, his staff, and the Wake Forest family,” Confesor said in a release. “I know how talented and tough this league is to compete in and I am excited to get to know our players and get to work on the field and in recruiting. Go Deacs!”

During his time at Air Force, the Falcons went 34-11 with 3 bowl game victories (all over Power 5 teams), an 11-win season, and a pair of 10-win seasons.

Confesor coached Brandon Lewis to Honorable Mention All-Mountain West honors in 2021. He averaged a program-record 30 yards per catch on 20 receptions before signing with the Tennessee Titans on a free agent deal for the 2022 season.

In 2019, Confesor coached the standout duo of Geraud Sanders and Ben Waters to a combined 52 catches for 1,404 yards and 14 touchdowns.

“We are committed to putting our players in the best position to be successful and adding someone with Ari Confesor’s energy, experience, and coaching ability is great for Wake Forest and our program,” Clawson said in a release. “Ari has a great ability to connect with his players and I am excited to see him work with those young men and impact their lives on and off the field. Our entire offensive staff is looking forward to working with Ari as he joins our Wake Forest and Winston-Salem community.”
