Wake Forest basketball added a major player to its 2023-24 roster on Sunday afternoon.

The Demon Deacons picked up a commitment from Kevin “Boopie” Miller from the transfer portal. Miller just finished his 2nd season at Central Michigan.

Here’s his announcement:

Miller is a huge addition for Wake Forest. He averaged 18.5 points per game for Central Michigan this past season. He also contributed 3.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per contest.

Wake Forest beat out several top programs to land Miller. Since entering the transfer portal, Miller had heard from programs like Arkansas, Ohio State and NC State, amongst others.

What this means for Wake Forest

Wake Forest has been very successful in the transfer portal in the past couple of years. Two years ago, the Demon Deacons brought in Alondes Williams and Jake LaRavia. This past year, they featured 1st team All-ACC guard Tyree Appleby.

Wake Forest will be looking to make the NCAA Tournament next season. The Demon Deacons have not reached the Big Dance since 2017.

Miller has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
