Wake Forest and North Carolina State will face off in the most important ACC game of the week on Saturday.

The teams are atop the standings of the ACC Atlantic division, and the winner of this game will be the driver’s seat for a berth in the ACC Championship Game.

Wake Forest is coming off its first loss of the season last week to North Carolina. The Demon Deacons are now 8-1 and in the midst of one of their best seasons in program history.

But they’ll have a tough task on Saturday, as North Carolina State boasts an efficient offense and a solid defense.

The Wolfpack are led by quarterback Devin Leary, who has 25-to-3 TD-to-INT ratio this season. Their defense gives up just 4.87 yards per play, which is good enough for third in the ACC.

“This is a team that doesn’t have a glaring weakness,” Clawson told reporters this week. “And that’s why they’re in the position they are.”

If North Carolina State does have a weakness, it’s in the running game. The Wolfpack are dead last in the ACC with just 136.8 rushing yards per game and 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.

However, that hasn’t hurt them too badly yet. Leary averages an efficient 7.8 yards per attempt and the Wolfpack are near the top of the ACC with a 43.1 percent third-down conversion rate.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
