Wake Forest is still on the bubble entering ACC Tournament

Wake Forest remains on the NCAA Tournament bubble prior to this week’s ACC Tournament in Brooklyn.

The Demon Deacons are 23-8 overall, but the lack of top-level wins means their NCAA Tournament fate is still somewhat in doubt. According to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi

, Wake Forest is one of the last four teams into the Field of 64.

That projection has Wake Forest as a No. 10-seed, narrowly missing the play-in round games in Dayton.

Lunardi’s bracket has Wake facing Colorado State in the first round. If the Demon Deacons managed to win that game, they would likely face Wisconsin in round two.

Wake Forest has just one Quad 1 v

ictory this season, which is why its NCAA Tournament résumé is still being called into question. However, Steve Forbes’ squad does have four Quad 2 wins.

Forbes (coach of the year) and Alondes Williams (player of the year) both won major ACC awards this week. Williams was also named first-team All-ACC after his tremendous season.

Wake Forest is the No. 5-seed in the ACC Tournament. It will face Boston College in the second round on Wednesday.
