Wake Forest would have to end a decades-old losing streak if it wants to upset No. 5 Clemson on Saturday.
The Demon Deacons have lost an astounding 62 consecutive games against AP top 10 opponents. According to ESPN, that’s the longest streak in the history of the AP Poll (since 1936).
A large percentage of those losses have come in the last 20+ years. During the 21st century, the Demon Deacons are 0-24 against top 10 teams. Eight of those 24 losses came at home.
Clemson is favored by more than a touchdown at Truist Field this weekend. The Tigers are looking to re-claim the Atlantic title this weekend, and beating Wake Forest is a key step toward that goal.

ill be looking to defend their division title from a year ago. Wake Forest won the Atlantic in 2021 despite losing to Clemson.
Clemson is 69-17-1 all-time against Wake Forest. The Tigers have won 13 consecutive games in this series.
The last time Wake Forest defeated Clemson was in 2008. Tigers coach Tommy Bowden resigned a few days later and Dabo Swinney was named the interim head coach. The rest is history.
Clemson and Wake Forest will meet on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
