Clemson coach Dabo Swinney addressed the status of defensive tackle Bryan Bresee when meeting with reporters on Wednesday night.
Swinney said Bresee is away from the team this week while he spends time with family. His younger sister, Ella, is battling brain cancer.
Swinney indicated Bresee may not return for Clemson’s Week 3 matchup with Louisiana Tech.
“I don’t know and really don’t care [if he plays Saturday],” Swinney said. There’s a lot more important things than football he needs to focus on.”
Swinney gave a similar message earlier this week, saying Bresee will “play if he wants to play”
against the Bulldogs in Week 3.
Bresee is in his third season with Clemson. Through 2 games so far this season, he has recorded 6 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. He’s originally from Damascus, Maryland.
Clemson and Louisiana Tech kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
