Florida State DB Jammie Robinson says FSU’s secondary will be ‘real dangerous’ in 2022

Florida State defensive back Jammie Robinson said he expects FSU’s secondary to be “real dangerous” this season.

Robinson made that comment at ACC Media Days in Charlotte on Wednesday morning. Robinson is one of several candidates in FSU’s secondary to receive All-ACC honors this season.

Last season, Robinson totaled 84 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 4 interceptions. His production helped him land a spot on the All-ACC team for 2021.

Robinson was the only returning Florida State defender to earn first-team All-ACC honors. He was also the only member of Florida State’s secondary to receive any kind of recognition from the conference.

However, Florida State was an exceptionally young team last season. Freshman cornerbacks Omarion Cooper and Kevin Knowles II received significantly playing time, especially early in the year. There’s also reason for optimism in safety Akeem Dent and Renardo Green, both of whom are entering their junior seasons.

Florida State also added a trio of newcomers who could be impactful this season. The Seminoles added defensive back Greedy Vance from Louisville and a pair of blue-chip prospects: Sam McCall and Azareye’h Thomas.

FSU is hoping to make big strides in 2022. Coach Mike Norvell told reporters on Wednesday that he isn’t going to put a limit

on what the Seminoles can accomplish this season. FSU will be seeking its first ACC Championship since 2014.

Florida State opens the 2022 campaign with Duquesne on Aug. 27.
