Florida State coach Mike Norvell expressed supreme confidence in his team while speaking at ACC Media Days on Wednesday morning.

Norvell, who is entering his third season at the helm, refused to put a limit on what the Seminoles could accomplish this upcoming season.

“I’m going to put no limits to what these guys can accomplish,” Norvell said. “I’ve got an unbelievable amount of confidence in them.”

Norvell added that he’s enjoyed seeing players take on leadership roles by coaching other players this summer.

This will be a pivotal year for Norvell and the Noles. Florida State is seeking its first 8+ win season in 2016 and its first bowl game appearance since 2019. Florida State hasn’t won the ACC since 2014.

Norvell has largely been given the benefit of the doubt as he attempts to rebuild what Willie Taggart left behind, but the results haven’t been there so far. Norvell is 8-13 as Florida State’s head coach through 2 seasons.

However, that could change quickly with an impressive 2022 campaign. With quarterback Jordan Travis returning and numerous potential starters arriving via the transfer portal, this is likely FSU’s most talented roster during Norvell’s tenure.

FSU opens the season in Week 0 vs. Duquesne before meeting LSU in New Orleans for a Week 1 showdown on Sept. 4.
