Florida State is without a key player vs. Georgia Tech

If Florida State is going to end its 3-game losing streak, it’ll have to do so without a key player.

Running back Treshaun Ward has been ruled for the home game against Georgia Tech due to an upper body injury.

Florida State coach Mike Norvell previously was noncommittal earlier in the week

about Ward’s availability. The 5-foot-10 sophomore has rushed for 488 yards and 3 touchdowns this season.

Florida State has a 4-3 record and is 5th in the ACC Atlantic. Those three straight losses came against three ranked opponents: No. 22 Wake Forest, No. 14 NC State, and No. 4 Clemson.

Georgia Tech has a 3-4 overall record and is 2nd in the ACC Coastal. Georgia Tech is coming off a 16-9 defeat against Virginia. Georgia Tech has yet to score over 21 points against a Power 5 opponent this season.

Florida State leads the all-time series 14-11-1. Georgia Tech has taken the last two contests in the series. The last time Florida State defeated Georgia Tech was a 37-35 victory in the 2014 ACC Championship Game.
