Mike Norvell talks up Florida State’s progress on the recruiting trail after bye week

Mike Norvell believes that recruits are excited about Florida State’s program.

While Florida State was on a bye week, Norvell went on the recruiting trail to help bring potential recruits to the program. Last week’s recruiting trail included visits to several parts of Florida to keep high school prospects in the state for college.

Norvell sensed a new feeling that high school players had about his program. There was a buzz around Florida State.

“We’ve got a lot of excitement from prospects around the state, prospects around the region,” Norvell said.

Florida State enters Week 9 with a 4-3 record. Despite losing the last 3 games, the recruits were excited about the direction Florida State was going into. In 2021, Florida State finished the season with a 5-7 record. Florida State is 1 win away from tying last season’s win total.

Norvell pointed out that the team’s early season success did not go unnoticed by the recruits. It will be interesting to see if the team can finish the 2022 season with a winning record.

Florida State will host 4-star running back recruit Cedric Baxter Jr. on a visit for a 2nd straight game. With Baxter showing interest in the program, Florida State could be in line to land him. According to 247 Sports Composite rankings, Florida State has the No. 16 overall recruiting class in 2023.

In Week 9, Florida State will return from the bye week against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
