New Miami QB commit Jaden Rashada reportedly set to make $9.5 million in NIL deal

Jaden Rashada’s commitment to Miami is already causing significant uproar across college football.

According to On3’s Jeremy Crabtree, Rashada is set to make $9.5 million thanks to his decision to attend Miami. It’s the highest-known NIL deal since regulations changed last summer.

The deal was reportedly brokered between Rashada’s NIL rep, Michael Caspino, and Miami mega-booster John Ruiz.

Ruiz appeared to acknowledge the deal earlier on Sunday:

As it turns out, Rashada apparently could have made even more money. According to Caspino, Rashada turned down “millions” in order to attend Miami.

Crabtree’s report indicates that Florida’s Gator Collective offered him $11 million. However, Gator Collective denies any communications with Caspino about Rashada’s future.

“He did not pick the highest offer,” Caspino told On3. “He went there because he loves Miami, the coaches, and the opportunity.”

Ruiz has already been the subject of an “inquiry” made by the NCAA

into his NIL deals for Miami athletes. His company has dozens of Miami athletes on its “payroll,” including basketball star Isaiah Wong and recent football transfer Akheem Mesidor.

Specific terms of the deal — such as years and timing of payment(s) — are not known as of publication.

Rashada is one of the top quarterbacks in the country for the class of 2023. He’s the No. 7 ranked QB in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Update: Ruiz and Caspino have denied their involvement in a NIL deal for Rashada.
