Renderings, other details released for proposed Miami football stadium

Renderings for a proposed new Miami football stadium have been released.

The stadium project, led by Miami booster and billionaire attorney John H. Ruiz, would reportedly be located in Tropical Park — significantly closer to the University’s campus.

Here are the renderings of what the stadium could look like:

As for a timeline, Ruiz tweeted Tuesday night that the stadium project could be completed by 2025.

The estimated capacity for the stadium is 60,000 seats, Ruiz said.

Miami currently plays its home games at the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, which is approximately 20 miles away from the Canes’ campus in Coral Gables. The new stadium would be located 2.8 miles from campus, Ruiz said.

Ruiz also said the stadium would feature a retractable roof, air conditioning, luxury suites and other amenities. HKS Architecture, a partner in this project, also designed the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.
