Back on top: Notre Dame once again has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country

Notre Dame is once again back on top of the national recruiting rankings.

The Fighting Irish have been going back-and-forth with Ohio State over the past several weeks. On Saturday night, the Buckeyes lost a commitment from 4-star cornerback Dijon Johnson

.

That slight adjustment to OSU’s class was enough to put Notre Dame back into the top spot, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Overall, Notre Dame has 20 commitments in the class of 2023 so far. That figure includes one 5-star prospect (Keon Keeley) and 17 4-star players.

The Fighting Irish are still pursuing prospects at several key positions, including running back and quarterback.

Earlier this week, Notre Dame offered a scholarship to 4-star running back Dylan Edwards. Soon after, he took a visit to South Bend and decommitted from Kansas State

.

Notre Dame is also still searching for its quarterback in this cycle. The Irish have recently offered a pair of prospects who are currently committed to other programs: Austin Novosad (Baylor) and Kenny Minchey (Pittsburgh).

The Early Signing Period begins in December.
