Notre Dame runner Logan Diggs announces transfer to SEC school

Notre Dame running back Logan Diggs is going back home to play for Brian Kelly at LSU.

The junior from Boutte, Louisiana, entered the transfer portal on April 27 after 2 seasons with the Irish. He announced Tuesday that he has committed to the Tigers. He’ll have 3 years to play 2 for LSU.

Diggs committed to the Irish when Kelly was still leading the program, so it’s no surprise the Tigers won out in his second recruitment.

As a true freshman in 2021, he appeared in each of the team’s final 8 games, carrying the ball a total of 52 times for 230 y

ards and 3 touchdowns. He also caught 6 passes for 56 yards and another score.

He played in 12 of Notre Dame’s 13 games during the 2022 season, finishing with 821 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns as the team’s second-leading rusher.

When he entered the portal after the spring, he called it the “hardest decision of my life” in a social media post. He also considered South Carolina and Ole Miss.
