Notre Dame running back Logan Diggs is going back home to play for Brian Kelly at LSU.

The junior from Boutte, Louisiana, entered the transfer portal on April 27 after 2 seasons with the Irish. He announced Tuesday that he has committed to the Tigers. He’ll have 3 years to play 2 for LSU.

Diggs committed to the Irish when Kelly was still leading the program, so it’s no surprise the Tigers won out in his second recruitment.

As a true freshman in 2021, he appeared in each of the team’s final 8 games, carrying the ball a total of 52 times for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also caught 6 passes for 56 yards and another score.

He played in 12 of Notre Dame’s 13 games during the 2022 season, finishing with 821 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns as the team’s second-leading rusher.

When he entered the portal after the spring, he called it the “hardest decision of my life” in a social media post. He also considered South Carolina and Ole Miss.
