Pitt players take exception to Pat Narduzzi throwing them under the bus after Notre Dame loss

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi threw his players under the proverbial bus when meeting with reporters on Saturday after the team’s 58-7 loss to Notre Dame.

Narduzzi said he didn’t do a good enough job of replacing the players who left the program after the 2022 campaign.

“We lost a lot of good players last year,” Narduzzi said

. “We thought we’d replace them and obviously we didn’t do a good job with that.”

It didn’t take long after that comment was made for Pitt players to respond. Several players shared reactions to the comment indicating they were hurt by it.

Here’s some of that reaction:

By all accounts, it has been a rough season for Pitt. The Panthers are 2-6 on the season and are on the brink of being eliminated from bowl eligibility. Its only FBS win this season came two weeks ago in an upset over Louisville.

Pitt has been bowl-eligible in every season since 2017.
