Syracuse announces that Garrett Shrader will miss spring practice

Garrett Shrader will miss spring practice after Syracuse announced on Monday that the quarterback underwent a successful procedure for an injury to his right arm.

ā€œIā€™m disappointed to miss the rest of the spring, but looking forward to rehabbing and getting ready for this upcoming season,ā€ Shrader said in a statement

Syracuse will begin spring practice on March 21.

Shrader last season was a team captain and started 12 games, and completed 205-of-317 passes (64.7 pct) for 2,640 yards with 17 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions. He ran for 453 yards on 150 attempts and 9 scores ā€¦ His .647 completion percentage was second in the ACC and 33rd nationally this season, and it was the third most accurate season in program history. He also had a 147.9 passing efficiency rating, which was the ninth-best season in program history.

His 205 completions were the seventh-highest single-season total in program history.
