3 ACC softball teams have reached the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.

Virginia Tech, Duke and Clemson all won their respective regionals on their home fields on Sunday afternoon.

No. 3 Virginia Tech was forced to win back-to-back games over a challenging Kentucky squad, but the Hokies were able to pull it off. They won the clincher 5-4 to punch their second-straight ticket to the Super Regional round.

Clemson is  going to the Super Regionals for the first time ever. The Tigers have only had a softball program since 2020, making this a remarkable accomplishment. They went 3-0 this weekend and run-ruled Louisiana on Sunday to clinch their spot.

Duke also went undefeated this weekend and grabbed a mercy-rule victory over Georgia on Sunday to punch its ticket.

Clemson and Duke will each be the road team for the Super Regional round. They will face Oklahoma State and UCLA, respectively.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech will host Florida in the Blackburg Super Regional. The Gators are a traditional power in softball and will provide a tough test for the Hokies.

Florida State was the No. 2 national seed entering this weekend, but lost to Mississippi State in stunning fashion. Georgia Tech and Notre Dame were also eliminated this weekend.

The Super Regional round consists of a best-of-3 series. The winning will advance to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
