Duke and North Carolina will continue its transcendent rivalry Saturday for the first time without iconic Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Jon Scheyer and Hubert Davis have taken the reigns of the 2 programs now after years of Coach K, Dean Smith and Roy Williams leading the way. And while neither team is in the top 25, both are of similar records and fighting for a stronger spot in both the ACC and NCAA Tournament in March.

On College GameDay Saturday morning, college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg explained perfectly why Duke-UNC is such a big deal.

“This is not Duke-Carolina, this is a national treasure. This is the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox,” Greenberg said. “It’s the great players that played this game. You don’t have to say full names, it’s K, it’s Roy, it’s Dean, it’s Jay Will, it’s MJ, it’s JJ. This game is bigger than any other game in college basketball because it’s not just for North Carolina, it’s for the country.”
