Paul Rhoads, a former Power 5 head coach and defensive coordinator, is reportedly set to coach in the ACC.

FootballScoop reported that Rhoads, who spent last season as a high school assistant in Alabama, is expected to join the Boston College staff. He was a defensive assistant at Ohio State in 2020, and the defensive coordinator at Arizona in 2020. He’s also been a defensive coordinator at Pittsburgh, Auburn and Arkansas.

At Iowa State, Rhoads went 32-55 with the Cyclones and reached 3 bowl games.

On top of his coordinator roles, Rhoads is known for coaching defensive backs.

At Gulf Shores in Alabama, Mark Hudspeth, the head coach who hired Rhoads, said the team finished 11-2, and he was great to have on staff.

“We were outstanding,” Hudspeth said, per AL.com. “We gave up the fewest points in school history. It was unbelievable to have Paul here. Not only was he a great coordinator, but he’s been a head coach in college. He knows what it is supposed to look like big picture wise with organization, practice preparation and game preparation.

Under Jeff Hafley, Boston College is 15-20 in 3 seasons.

BC was 6-5 in 2020 and 6-6 in 2021, and last season was 3-9.
