Clemson made a big addition from the Lone Star state on Wednesday afternoon, picking up a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Harris Sewell.

Sewell chose the Tigers over Texas A&M and other top programs.

Here’s his announcement:

“Coach Swinney, coach Austin and the Clemson staff — thank you!” Harris wrote in-part. “You have given me the chance of a lifetime. I commit to you and your team all I have and all I can become.”

Harris is the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 72 overall player and becomes one of Clemson’s top commitments in this class.

Sewell is originally from Odessa, which is in west Texas. He’s the No. 14 player from Texas in this class.

Clemson now has 15 commitments for the 2023 cycle, and 12 of them have come in the month of June. Sewell becomes the second offensive lineman to pick Clemson, joining fellow Texan and 4-star offensive lineman, Ian Reed.

Clemson’s 2023 class currently ranks No. 4 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Tigers rank behind only Ohio State, Texas and Notre Dame.
