Clemson seems to be trending in the right direction when it comes to landing the recruitment of 3-star cornerback Misun Kelley.

According to 247Sports’ experts, the Tigers are viewed as the front-runners for Kelley. He decommitted from Virginia Tech earlier this week.

Kelley has been recruited by wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham and defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin. He is expected to visit the school on Oct. 22 for the Tigers’ matchup against No. 22 Syracuse.

According to 247Sports’ Brian Dohn, both Florida and Oklahoma have shown interest in the defensive back as of late. Kelley is the No. 73 cornerback commit in the nation and the No. 11 player in the state of South Carolina.

Kelley currently attends D.W. Daniel High School in Central, S.C. The Tigers currently have 20 commitments in this cycle. The group ranks No. 8 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Should Clemson land Kelley’s commitment, he’d be the first player from the state to stay home.

The Tigers kick off against Boston College at 7:30 p.m. E.T.
