Dabo Swinney gives medical update on Bryan Bresee
Defensive lineman Bryan Bresee missed Clemson’s win over NC State on Saturday night with a non-football-related medical issue.
Before the game, it was reported that Bresee spent time in the hospital this week with a kidney issue but it’s not expected to keep him out longterm. Bresee was on the sidelines tonight in street clothes for Clemson’s 30-20 win.
After the game, coach Dabo Swinney addressed his status. He called it a “really scary” situation but said the Tigers hope to have him back next week.
On Bryan Bresee, Dabo Swinney says "It's a non-football medical issue he had, really scary, and what his family did not need to deal with at this point."
Says it was three or four days of waiting on test results but everything "turned out great." Hope to have him back next week.

Bresee is a key member of Clemson’s defense. He’s only played in 3 games this season, but he already has 2 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He’s arguably Clemson’s top NFL Draft prospect for the 2023 cycle.
It’s been a difficult few weeks for Bresee on a number of levels. He lost his younger sister, Ella, to cancer back in September. College GameDay aired a touching tribute to Ella’s journey on Saturday morning.
When Bresee is able to return to the field, he will surely make a big impact for the Tigers’ defensive line.
