An unexpected loss in South Bend over the weekend has seemingly crushed the once-undefeated Clemson Tiger’s hope for a championship win.

An ugly 35-14 defeat against the Fighting Irish (6-3) resulted in an unfortunate drop in rankings for the Tigers (8-1, 6-0), once shining at No. 4 and falling to No. 10 after the loss. The Tigers struggled for a second consecutive game on the offensive side of the ball, falling behind 28-0 at a point during the match-up– a first under Dabo Swinney. As seen in prior games, they were only able to maintain a small rhythm in the last remaining minutes.

Davis Allen, a reliable receiver and physical blocker, stuck out as a strong player who contributed to the Tiger’s efforts, leading the team in both receptions and yards (7-60). With his help, the tight ends were one of the only position groups that demonstrated a sense of consistency throughout the game.

Here’s Allen’s media availability this week:

Allen has a career-high in yards (325) this season and could set new career-best benchmarks in receptions and touchdowns this week against Louisville.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
