One of Clemson’s top targets in the class of 2023 is announcing his commitment later this month.

4-star defensive end David Ojiegbe will announce his college choice on April 27. He released those details on Monday afternoon:

Ojiegbe is the No. 20 EDGE in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 210 player nationally.

He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds. He attends St. John’s High School in Washington DC.

Clemson already has 3 commitments in the class of 2023. 4-star receiver Nathaniel Joseph, 4-star quarterback Christopher Vizzina and 3-star tight end Reid Mikeska have already verbally committed to the Tigers.

The class currently ranks No. 4 in the ACC, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, Ojiegbe would be Clemson’s first commitment on the defensive side of the ball. The Tigers were forced to start from scratch this cycle after defensive coordinator Brent Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates both left for promotions at Oklahoma.

Ojiegbe also has offers from programs like Miami, Michigan, Louisville, Purdue and Cincinnati, amongst others. He’s taken visits to Miami and Clemson since the beginning of March.
