Jon Scheyer indicated that Duke guard Jeremy Roach is unlikely to play in Wednesday’s game against Pittsburgh.

Roach has been dealing with a toe injury that will likely prevent him from playing in Duke’s next game. Roach missed Saturday’s 65-64 win at Boston College with the injury.

The injury began on Nov. 27 when Duke played Purdue in the Phil Knight Legacy. Roach was able to play 6 games in December and January with the toe injury before he missed Saturday’s game. While it is unclear how much time Roach will miss, he had to miss the last game to recover.

Roach last played against NC State on Jan. 4. In that 24-point loss to the Wolfpack, Roach scored 4 points in 23 minutes. On the season, Roach has averaged 11.9 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game.

Roach’s last double-digit scoring game came against Iowa when he scored 22 points on Dec. 6. He followed that performance up with 2 9-point games against Wake Forest and Florida State on Dec. 20 and Dec. 31.

Duke will need other players to fill in at the guard position while Roach is out. Tyrese Proctor will be a likely option at guard for the Blue Devils during Roach’s absence. Proctor scored 6 points against Boston College on Saturday.

Wednesday’s home game vs. Pitt will take place at 7 p.m. ET.
