Duke star Paolo Banchoro has been charged with aiding and abetting DWI, according to a report.

That’s per The News & Observer, who notes that the car was being driven by junior guard Michael Savarino. Savarino, who is the grandson of coach Mike Krzyzewski, was arrested for DWI.

“We are reviewing a legal matter involving two members of the men’s basketball team,” Krzyzewski said in a statement to the News & Observer. “Any further actions as a result of this situation will ultimately be determined by the Vice President/Director of Athletics and University officials.”

According to the report, Savarino has a court date for Dec. 9. Banchero’s date is on Dec. 8. The incident took place early Sunday morning, presumably after Duke’s 67-53 victory over Campbell.

Duke is set to play again on Tuesday night vs. Gardner-Webb. It’s unclear if Banchero or Savarino will suit up.

Banchero is the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He’s averaging 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season, and has also impressed scouts with his versatility on the defensive end.

Tip off vs. Gardner-Webb is at 7:00 p.m. ET.
