Is Florida State back? Fans are about to find out Saturday against NC State.

The Seminoles will have the chance to pick up a top-25 win against the No. 14 Wolfpack at Carter-Finley Stadium. Despite losing to No. 15 Wake Forest, FSU’s offense clicked for 4 quarters behind quarterback Jordan Travis’ arm.

ESPN’s Desmond Howard is buying into the Seminoles’ hype entering the midseason mark following Travis’ outing, saying that offense is trending in the right direction under 3rd-year coach Mike Norvell.

“North Carolina State played Clemson last week — lots of turnovers, didn’t control the line of scrimmage.  If these guys can still block upfront, I still think Devin Leary is a great quarterback. He would do what great quarterbacks do with their arms and his legs,” Howard said on College GameDay on Saturday morning. “To go up against this Florida State team, man, they have a 3 running back rotation, that’s going to open up the pass game. Check out Johnny Wilson, 3 touchdowns. He averages 18 yards per catch. He’s a weapon.”

Travis threw for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns against a pesky Demon Deacons’ defense. He averaged 8 yards per throw and completed 65.7% of his passes. This season, Travis has completed 65.9% of his throws for 1,226 yards and 8 touchdowns against 1 interception.

As for the ground game, the Seminoles have averaged 5.3 yards per carry as a team. Behind the legs of Treshaun Ward and Trey Benson, FSU has totaled 1,019 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. Ward, who currently leads FSU in rushing yards, has total 437 yards off 67 carries and has scored 3 touchdowns.

Kickoff Saturday is set for 8:00 p.m. E.T.
