Florida State picked up a late commitment for its 2022 roster on Sunday afternoon.

Former Jacksonville State cornerback Malik Feaster chose the Seminoles. As a graduate transfer, he’s expected to be immediately eligible for this upcoming season.

Here’s Feaster’s announcement:

He also had offers from programs like Auburn and SMU.

Feaster brings a lot of experience to a Florida State secondary that is lacking in that department. Last season at Jacksonville State, he totaled 42 tackles and intercepted 2 passes. He also proved to be a big-time playmaker with a 100-yard scoop-and-score against North Alabama.

Feaster was also on the Jacksonville State team that upset FSU last fall. He had 5 tackles in the game, which was tied for second-most on the team. The Jacksonville State secondary limited McKenzie Milton to just 133 passing yards on 31 attempts.

Entering fall camp, Omarion Cooper and Renardo Green are expected to start at cornerback for FSU this season. However, someone like Feaster — or freshman Azareye’h Thomas — could break into that rotation.

Florida State opens the 2022 season on Aug. 27 against Duquesne.
