A high profile transfer from UTEP will be headed to Tallahassee to join Florida State next season.

Jeremiah Byers, a top offensive line transfer, committed to the Seminoles on Monday evening. Byers chose Florida State over offers from major programs like Oregon and Ohio State.

The OL made his announcement on Twitter, tagging FSU head coach Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins:

Byers brings multiple years of experience at the OL position, and is expected to be slotted in right away. Byers will add significant depth to an OL that has struggled with injuries this season.

Byers started all 13 of UTEP’s games at right tackle and was all-conference this season.

Florida State has made multiple additions via the transfer portal already this season. Tight end Jaheim Bell, tight end Kyle Morlock, defensive lineman Darrell Jackson and offensive lineman Casey Roddick are amongst the transfers who have already committed to FSU.
