Florida State won its 17th ACC softball championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Seminoles defeated Clemson 8-6 thanks to a 4-run 6th inning that completed a comeback over the Tigers. Mack Leonard’s 3-run homer in the 6th was the difference.

Here’s that play:

Kalei Harding also homered in this game, her 15th of the season. It came at a critical moment in the 2nd inning to tie the game after the Tigers briefly took a 4-3 lead.

Kathryn Sandercock earned the win as she pitched the final 3.2 innings of the game. She scattered 6 hits over those innings, but allowed just 1 run across. She struck out 3 and walked 0.

The Seminoles are the highest-ranked team in the country to win their conference tournament this season. Oklahoma entered the week at No. 1, but fell in the Big 12 Tournament Championship to Oklahoma State.

Florida State is 52-5 on the season and will almost certainly host a regional to open the NCAA Tournament next weekend. The Seminoles made it all the way to the championship series last season before falling to Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

FSU will learn its opponents in its upcoming regional on Sunday night during the selection show on ESPN 2.
