Jordan Travis earned a rave review from Mark Richt after a bowl win Thursday.

Travis went 27-of-38 for 418 yards and 2 TDs in a thrilling 35-32 comeback win.

After the performance, the former coach and current analyst Mark Richt compared Travis to a Seminole legend.

“He’s got a lot of Charlie Ward in him,” said Richt about Travis.

Ward was a 2-sport athlete for the Seminoles playing both football and basketball. In 1993, Ward led the Seminoles to a National Championship victory, defeating Nebraska 18-16. Ward also won the Heisman Trophy for his incredible 1993 season.

Ward would end up undrafted in the NFL, but he did get drafted in the 1st round of the 1994 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. Ward had a solid 10-year career as a role player in the NBA.

Travis and Ward were both known for their rushing and big-play ability for the Seminoles. Travis had an incredible 2022 season, finishing the regular season with 3,214 passing yards and 24 passing TDs.
