Following its 20-10 loss in Week 5 against Clemson, the hype surrounding No. 14 NC State has worn off a tad. At least with ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit.

Herbstreit is rolling with the Seminoles for Saturday’s matchup at Finley Stadium. Although FSU fell to Wake Forest, Herbstreit was pleased with how the offense moved the football against the Demon Deacons in a 31-21 loss.

The same can’t be said for the Wolfpack offense.

“I really expected more from Devin Leary, from NC State when they went to Death Valley,” Herbstreit said on GameDay on Saturday morning. “It was great for Clemson, but what in the heck was going on with North Carolina State’s offense? Now they have the athletic ability of what the Noles could do? Getting better and better. I like Florida State to go into Raleigh and win.”

NC State was expected to be one of the nation’s top passing attacks with the return of Leary. Currently, the Wolfpack ranks sixth among ACC schools in passing (258.1 yards per game) and ninth in scoring (32.8 points per game). Nationally, NC State ranks 85th in total offense (385.4 points per game.)

Kickoff Saturday is set for 8:00 p.m. E.T. The Wolfpack are a 3.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel.
