It always starts with recruiting. Flordia State might finally be “back” if its latest recruiting class takes the next step.

And the Seminoles have a star in the making with 4-star linebacker Blake Nichelson.

Blake Nichelson, a native of Ripon, California, might be known for his hard-hitting demeanor on defense. But don’t call him a one-trick pony. On Friday night, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder showed off his skills on special teams, returning a 58-yard punt return to the house during Manteca’s victory.

Here’s a clip:

While Nichelson showed off the speed, it was the hit stick at the very end that has people talking. Soon, he’ll be making that type of impact at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturdays.

Barring a last-second change of heart, Nichelson is expected to keep his word and play for the Seminoles. Other schools that are expected to be in the running for Nichelson’s services include USC and Oregon.

Currently, the Seminoles rank 16th in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.
