Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims is not expected to play on Saturday against Florida State.

Sims is dressed out for the game, but he will only see the field in an emergency situation. That’s according to a report from Rivals’ Kelly Quinlan:

Sims was questionable for this game due to a foot sprain. He was forced to leave the game early last weekend against Virginia due to the injury.

Georgia Tech has struggled mightily without Sims so far this year. Last week agains the Cavs, Zach Gibson completed just 10-of-25 passes for 99 yards. He was also a negative on the ground, rushing the ball 12 times for -25 yards.

True freshman Zach Pyron could make his collegiate debut in this game, coach Brent Key said earlier this week. Pyron is a former 4-star recruit from Pinson, Alabama.

Georgia Tech has won the last two meetings in this series. Kickoff is at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
