Louisville coach Scott Satterfield is headed to Cincinnati.

Satterfield will replace Luke Fickell at Cincinnati, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Pete Thamel notes that it’s a six-year contract for Satterfield.

Louisville is slated to play Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl later this month.

Satterfield went 25-24 in four seasons as the Cardinals’ head coach. That record included at 15-18 mark in conference play.

Louisville athletic director Josh Heird released this statement on Monday morning:

“We will be looking for a tremendous leader who recognizes both the history and potential of Louisville football and is committed longterm to helping the program reach new heights,” the statement reads in-part.

Louisville’s next head coach will have the difficult task of retaining the Cardinals’ talented 2023 recruiting class. The group currently ranks No. 19 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The class is led by 5-star running back Rueben Owens and 4-star quarterback Pierce Clarkson.

The Early Signing Period begins on Dec. 21.
