Louisville will be without wide receiver Dee Wiggins for the remainder of the 2022 season, Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield announced Tuesday.

Wiggins underwent season-ending surgery for a toe injury. He suffered the toe injury in Friday’s loss to Florida State. Prior to leaving the game, Wiggins registered 2 catches for 41 yards.

In his time at Louisville, Friday was the most receiving yards he had in a single game. Wiggins played in all 3 games this season. In the games against Syracuse and UCF, Wiggins had 1 catch in each game. He was in his first season at Louisville.

Wiggins transferred from Miami in December 2021. He spent the last 4 seasons at Miami. During his time with the Hurricanes, Wiggins had 62 catches, 791 receiving yards, and 7 touchdowns. His last touchdown happened in 2020.

In 2021, Wiggins only appeared in 2 games for Miami. He eventually left Miami and hoped to find a new college football home at Louisville. His first season at Louisville was cut short.

In addition to announcing Wiggins’ season-ending news, Satterfield also announced that running back Tiyon Evans and offensive lineman Caleb Chandler will be available for this week.

Louisville will host South Florida on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
