NC State quarterback Devin Leary intends to enter the transfer portal, according to a report.

That’s per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who broke that news on Monday morning. Leary will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Leary was the ACC’s preseason Player of the Year entering 2022, but things didn’t go to play. He suffered a season-ending injury against Florida State in October, which de-railed NC State’s season.

The Wolfpack ended up going 8-4 on the year and used four quarterbacks to do so: Leary, Jack Chambers, MJ Morris and Ben Finley.

Leary is expected to be one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the portal. He threw for 6,807 yards, 62 touchdowns and just 16 interceptions across parts of four seasons with the Wolfpack.

Morris, who just finished his true freshman season, is expected to be NC State’s starter next season if he decides to return to Raleigh.

NC State will also be hiring a new offensive coordinator this offseason. Tim Beck was named the next head coach at Coastal Carolina over the weekend.
