Former NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett led his Cleveland Browns to a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football.

Brissett out-dueled North Carolina alum Mitch Trubisky en route to the 29-17 victory. Brissett completed 21-of-31 passes for 221 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Here’s one of his touchdown passes to tight end David Njoku:

Meanwhile, Trubisky struggled in his third consecutive start for the Steelers. He threw for 207 yards on 32 attempts and did not find the end zone in Cleveland. Pittsburgh scored just 3 points in the second half, squandering a 14-13 halftime lead.

Through 3 games, Brissett is completing 66.3% of his passes and has thrown for 596 yards, 4 touchdowns and just 1 interception. The Browns are 2-1 on the year.

The Brissett-Trubisky meeting was an interesting extension of the NC State-UNC rivalry. The matchup comes just a few days after North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye took a jab at the Wolfpack. He later apologized.

North Carolina will host NC State on Nov. 25 to close out the regular season for both programs.
