Tommy White continues to take college baseball by storm.

He picked a convenient time to have perhaps the best game of his record-breaking freshman season on Wednesday night. His 3 home runs helped lift NC State past a formidable Miami team in the ACC Tournament.

NC State won the game 9-6, upsetting the No. 3-seeded Hurricanes in the process. White finished the game with 5 RBI and also drew a walk.

The Wolfpack’s victory means they will advance to the semifinals on Saturday. It also means they’re almost certainly going to be in the field of 64 after entering this week on the bubble.

White’s 3 home runs gave him 26 on the season, which breaks the program’s single-season record. He previously broke the ACC’s single-season home record for a freshman.

NC State will face another upset-minded team in the semifinals. It will go up against No. 11-seeded Pitt, who walked off No. 2-seeded Louisville on Wednesday. The other semifinal teams have not yet been determined.

First pitch of NC State-Pitt is at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday.
