North Carolina is apparently going after Northwestern transfer transfer Pete Nance to round out its starting lineup for next season.

The latest evidence of UNC’s recruitment is a tweet sent out by star center Armando Bacot on Thursday night:

Bacot sent out similar recruitment tweets to 5-star forward GG Jackson — who North Carolina landed — and Baylor transfer Matthew Meyer — who ended up choosing Illinois.

Nance withdrew from the NBA draft after going through the process over the last few weeks. Listed at 6-foot-10, Nance has the frame and skill required to play the power forward spot in Hubert Davis’ offense.

Last season at Northwestern, Nance made 45.2% of his 3-point attempts. He averaged 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He’s also a talented passer and averaged 2.7 assists per contest.

His skillset would slot in perfectly alongside Bacot in North Carolina’s front court. UNC returns 4 of 5 starters from last year’s team that reached the National Championship game.

Nance’s family has a history with basketball and the NBA. His father, Larry Nance Sr., had a 13-year NBA career and went to 3 All-Star games. His brother, Larry Nance Jr., just finished his 7th NBA season.
