North Carolina star center Armando Bacot rolled his ankle in UNC’s 81-77 win over Duke on Saturday night.

Bacot was able to return to the game, but coach Hubert Davis conceded that he would likely be sore on Sunday. Sill, Davis expects Bacot to play vs. Kansas in the national title game on Monday.

“He’ll play,” Davis said. “I know it’s going to be sore. And I know the next 24 to 48 hours in terms of treatment is going to be huge. But at this time, I don’t think there’s a player that isn’t hurt a little bit.”

After the game, Bacot revealed that he thought his night was over after sustaining the injury.

Bacot’s injury occurred late in the game, but he was still able to return for most of crunch time. He ended up fouling out with under 1 minute remaining. But by that time, he had already contributed 11 points and 21 rebounds.

Bacot will be crucial for matchup up with Kansas. The Jayhawks start a talented front court of David McCormack and Jalen Wilson. They also have veteran Mitch Lightfoot coming off the bench.

Tipoff is at 9:20 p.m. ET on Monday night.
