North Carolina is a bubble team with work to do.

ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi has the Tar Heels at No. 72 as of Monday evening, making UNC one of the “First Four Out” when it comes to the NCAA Tournament field of 68. Entering the ACC basketball tournament, North Carolina is 19-12 overall.

On Monday, CBS Sports analysts Chris Walker, Roy Hibbert and Jon Rothstein shared their thoughts on UNC’s chances of making the Big Dance. None of the 3 expect to see the Tar Heels among the 68 teams. Walker and Rothstein noted that North Carolina would need to make the ACC Tournament finals to snag an at-large bid.

The path to getting in as an at-large team or winning the ACC Tournament starts on Wednesday. As the No. 7 seed, UNC will play either No. 10 seed Boston College or No. 15 seed Louisville. Wednesday’s game is set for 7 p.m. ET. If the Tar Heels advance, they would play No. 2 seed Virginia.
