North Carolina will have a special look for Friday’s rivalry game against NC State.

The Tar Heels will wear Carolina blue jerseys with Carolina blue pants. The jerseys and pants will be accompanied by chrome helmets.

It will be an all-blue look for the Tar Heels. The chrome helmets feature a navy blue primary color with a Carolina blue outline of a heel as the logo on the sides of the helmet.

North Carolina will hope to see a positive result in the new uniforms. In Week 12, North Carolina lost out on a chance to make the College Football Playoff with a 21-17 loss to Georgia Tech. It was a stunning defeat that hurt the ACC’s chances of having a team represent the conference in the Playoff.

Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 202 yards and 1 interception in the loss. That was the 1st game this season that Maye did not throw a touchdown pass. North Carolina relied on running back Elijah Green to carry the load on the ground against the Yellow Jackets. Green rushed for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Friday’s game against NC State will precede the ACC Championship Game against Clemson on Dec. 3.
