Perris Jones, Virginia player seriously injured in Louisville, released from hospital
Perris Jones has been released from the hospital 3 weeks after the Virginia running back suffered a very serious injury.
Jones was carted off the field during Virginia’s Nov. 9 game against Louisville. The day after the game, Jones had successful spine surgery at the University of Louisville hospital. Now, Jones is set to return home to Charlottesville from Frazier Rehab in Louisville.
“From the football field, through surgery and rehab, the comprehensive and integrated system of care has contributed to Jones’ recovery success,” University of Louisville health said. “Jones has made tremendous progress, is now healthy for travel and will continue his rehabilitation journey in Virginia.”

Jones’ injury was a scary one. During the third quarter of the game, he collided with Louisville linebacker Cam’Ron Kelly and remained motionless on the field for more than 10 minutes before being taken of the field. He regained his motion a few hours later, school officials confirmed.
The senior running back recorded 393 yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
