Notre Dame baseball is trending upwards as the 2022 regular season comes to a close.

The Fighting Irish moved up to No. 14 in this week’s D1Baseball top-25, which was released on Monday morning. They move up 2 spots after beating Michigan State once and taking 2-of-3 from Pitt over the weekend.

Notre Dame still has one major series remaining — at Miami this weekend. The Hurricanes are No. 9 in this week’s D1Baseball poll, making this one of the more pivotal matchups in the country this week.

If Notre Dame can win the series, it will be in great position heading into the ACC Tournament later this month.

As of now, the Fighting Irish are in good position to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament. However, they could fall back or move up depending on how the next 2 weeks go. If they can get a top-8 seed, Notre Dame will have a chance to potentially host a Super Regional in June.

In D1Baseball’s latest bracket projection, Notre Dame is hosting a regional and would be matched up with the Louisville Regional winner for the Super Regional round.

First pitch of the Miami series is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday.
