Notre Dame is still searching for its quarterback in the class of 2023.

The Fighting Irish offered a scholarship to 4-star quarterback Kenny Minchey on Saturday morning. He’s currently committed to Pittsburgh, but is apparently interested in what the Fighting Irish have to offer.

Notre Dame hosted another 4-star quarterback in 2023 earlier this week — current Baylor commitment Austin Novosad. Ohio State and Texas A&M are also involved in Novosad’s recruitment.

It’s possible this offer means Notre Dame is moving on from Novosad as it looks to bring in a quarterback for this cycle.

Minchey is the No. 15 quarterback in the country for the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 overall player from the state of Tennessee.

The Memphis native is coming off a great summer where he impressed at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles.

Minchey has been committed to Pittsburgh since April 30. It’s not yet clear whether or not he will take a visit to South Bend in the coming weeks.

Quarterback is the primary missing piece to Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class. The group already has 20 commitments and ranks No. 2 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
