Florida State OC Alex Atkins linked to vacant head coaching job
Florida State offensive coordinator and OL coach Alex Atkins could be a candidate for Georgia Tech’s head coaching vacancy.
According to a report from 247Sports’ Carl Reed, Atkins is one of several “names of interest” in Georgia Tech’s coaching search.
Top names of interest in the Georgia Tech Head Coaching Search are Jackson State Head Coach Deion Sanders, Georgia Running Back Coach Dell McGee, Coast Carolina Head Coach Jamey Caldwell, and Florida State OL/OC Alex Adkins.

Atkins is in his first season as Florida State’s offensive coordinator. He was promoted this past offseason after Kenny Dillingham left for the same position at Oregon.
Before being elevated to OC, Atkins had served as Florida State’s offensive line coach in 2020 and 2021. He also called plays at Charlotte before making the move to Tallahassee.
Florida State’s offense has been excellent so far this season. The Noles rank No. 2 in the ACC in yards per play at 7.22. For context, last season’s offense averaged only 5.79 yards per play. No ACC offense has finished the year above 7 yards per play since North Carolina in 2020.
FSU will be in action again this weekend against Wake Forest.
